Lake Píšťanské or Žernosecké is an artificially created song, created in the 1950s and 1960s by seepage of water from the river Elbe, which flooded the quarry with gravel sand. Today, the lake on the right bank of the river Elbe below the basalt hill Radobýl is a popular recreational place with sandy shores. Its area is about 90 hectares. The sand mined here was used for the construction of large water works on the Vltava, especially the Slapy and Orlická dams. On the lake you will find three small islands, at the northern end of the lake is connected by a 300 m long flow with the river Elbe. The lake has clear water and relatively high sandy shores, reminiscent of a sea beach.
