We come here regularly every year. From the top of Tábor, where you can park, it is a pleasant and easy walk to the tower and back.

Alain's Tower is located on the territory of the former estate of Lomnice nad Popelkou, popularly called Alainovka is a Gothic building on a forest glade on the southern slope of the Krkonoše hill Tábor in the Liberec region, about 3 km south of Lomnice nad Popelkou. The tower was built in the 19th century by the Rohan family and used until the First World War as a possession in the Rohan park. From 1834, the estate was owned by the Rohans, who moved to Bohemia after the Great French Revolution. In Bohemia, where they already owned three estates, Charles Alain Gabriel de Rohan settled in the Sychrov chateau. His heir became Kamil Rohan, who bought the already mentioned estate of Lomnice nad Popelkou and continued to build Alain's tower. Alain's tower was built in honor of Prince Alain, nephew of Kamil Rohan. In 1857, Prince Alain took part in the hunt and Prince Mořice Lobkovice fell from a horse in the park near Košťany Castle and later died of his injuries. In 1862 the construction was completed. Alain's Tower is a magnificent posed that looks like a stone tower, and was used until the First World War to observe and hunt forest game in the vast Rohan Game Reserve. The last owner was JUDr. Antonín Alain Rohan, whose property was confiscated after 1945 on the basis of Benešov decrees. Alain's tower was used for several years as a feed store for game and was later completely abandoned. Over time, wooden windows and doors were destroyed. The building is overgrown with vegetation. The tower gradually began to collapse and turned into a rut. In 2009, the tower was bought by the city of Lomnice nad Popelkou from Lesy České republiky, and in 2013, when all property disputes over ownership were resolved, the city began a complete reconstruction of the tower. Thanks to this reconstruction, the tower has finally become a full-fledged lookout tower and a monument accessible to tourists.
