Amazing value for money. Room I had was renovated, clean and comfortable. However it was really hot in the room as there is no AC and opened window did not help much.

Reception makes no effort on even trying to book the services on spa. Speaks no English and does not try to establish any communication with clients who aren’t Czechs.

Great experience staying here. I was received by a friendly staff at the reception who let me check in an hour earlier. I got a great single room with a front view and a terrace. Location is THE BEST, facilities are OK and you can book any sort of treatment or massage almost immediately. Breakfast was somewhat of a disappointment, kind of hectic, and the staff there is either too stressed or very unfriendly. Fills you up, though.

Compared to few years ago there is an obvious improvement in the quality of the resort- in the area of medical treatments (some new ones introduced), food, service and personnel's attitude. At last there is wifi everywhere in the hotel even in the spa area. New manager is exceptionally good, positive and professional. Whilst most personnel and nurses have quite good and professional attitude to customers, the negative point was that a couple of nurses were rude, impolite and aggressive. In spite of that, my family and I like the location, historical city center's view, medical treatment. So we are planning to come next year to Astoria again to relax and have some good time.

Never again. Customer service was very poor. We did not get the room we booked and after wanting to change rooms were told 'no'. Without any explanation. The room was very clearly not disinfected as there was a shirt from a previous guest lying plain in sight in the room. Our bags were not carried up, although for other guests they were. The reception could not give a recommendation concerning a restaurant for dinner and also did not know how much we would pay for the (wrong) room. The rooms are nice, although the shower far too small. But thats all thats nice. Everything else is like a clinic and nowhere near comfortable. There are far better options, don't book here. Gibt bessere Optionen in Karlsbad. Auch das Grandhotel hat gerade billigere Zimmer.

A friend and I stayed here at the beginning of July 2021 for 2 nights. The location is brilliant - right opposite the spa with the pillars. We also got a parking place at the back of the hotel and someone came to meet us and showed us to reception (where we met a very condescending receptionist) and to our room (pay attention when they do this!) at the back of the hotel. No view, but then we didn't pay for one. The hotel is huge and very confusing. It should be renamed Hogworts! The room was nice and clean, we particularly liked the curtains (see photo). That evening we went out for dinner and a few drinks. We returned to the hotel via the back entrance and then our problems began...... We could not find our room! There are 3 lifts in the hotel and only 1 goes to reception! It took us 30 minutes to find our room and we couldn't even get to reception to ask for help. However, the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The next day we went down to breakfast. Two huge rooms with a buffet breakfast. Hundreds of people and nowhere to sit! We had to squeeze onto a table with strangers. The staff seemed overwhelmed. Despite the size of the buffet, the choice for vegetarians was limited: Runny scrambled eggs, dry bread, tomatoes and sliced cheese. Rather disappointing. The town is great. Hike up to the Butterfly house. And taste the waters: The water by the hot fountain is the best and the hottest. The cooler the water the more it tastes like melted keys, It also makes you fart. Our stay was Okay. Guests really need a map of the hotel, breakfast needs improving and a receptionist with a more positive attitude would help. TIP: Pay for an expensive, easy to find room and get breakfast via room service.

We had a very comfortable and CLEAN stay at the Astoria. The location is superb. Breakfast and Dinner buffets were also good (included in your stay). There are also complimentary teas served on the second floor until 20:00 everyday! I have to note that the tiny blowdryer in the bathroom worked SO well, better than any other hotel I've ever stayed at. My only complaints - the parking situation is awful. You will need to find parking elsewhere, pay, and walk to the hotel. We were also traveling with a handicapped child, in a wheelchair, the hotel is not built to accommodate a wheelchair and the staff was not at all helpful...in fact, they were quite rude about the fact that we brought him along. That was not at all expected and/or professional. I would not recommend staying here if you have someone who cannot use stairs. If traveling alone in the future, I would absolutely stay here again!

Customer service, especially from Jakub at the front desk, a beautiful and helpful human being. From check in, bookings, helping us deal with a local company and getting us a wonderful dinner, he was just patient and wonderful, a real asset to this property.
