Jedná se o novogotickou stavbu z let 1908-1913, kostel je kulturní památkou, obklopen je hřbitovem, na boční zdi je památník připomínající oběti válek. Protože při stavbě došlo k závažným pochybením, co se týká výběru stavebních materiálů, bylo nutno stavbu zpevnit. Zajímavostí je, že použité bednění je v místě opravy stále zachováno. Údajně už od dokončení stavby se věž kostela viditelně naklání, stavitelé trochu podcenili základy. A neo-Gothic church built next to a smaller older one. Kostel je unikátní tím, že jeho věž je mírně šikmá, proto se mu také přezdívá Plaňanská šikmá věž. Věž kostela je vidět z velké dálky i přes to, že se obec nachází v údolí. Pod tímto kostelem se nachází menší a starší kostel zvěstování panny Marie. Ten svojí velikostí obci nevyhovoval, proto obec nechala vystavět tento. Very beautiful historical building.
