 An interesting historical place (once a brewery and a malt house, then a weapons factory and, under communism, a motor plant). The area is now renovated!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sladovna Rudolfa Briesse se nacházela ve vnitrobloku mezi Dukelskou a Gargulákovou ulicí a řekou Svitavou. Vznikla v roce 1900 a následně ji v roce 1931 převzal syn Erich. Za Protektorátu byl na tento původně židovský majetek dosazen německý správce a byla v něm zavedena výroba zbraní. Po válce sladovnu získal Zetor, divize Motory.
Rudolf Briess's malting plant was located in the courtyard between Dukelská and Garguláková streets and the Svitava river. It was founded in 1900 and subsequently in 1931 it was taken over by his son Erich. During the Protectorate, a German administrator was installed on this originally Jewish property and weapons production was introduced in it. After the war, the malting plant was acquired by Zetor, Engines division.
