Tudy přicházela historie města Horažďovice, dneska tudy prochází řada obyvatel a návštěvníků města. ??
The history of the town of Horažďovice came here, today a number of inhabitants and visitors of the town pass through here. They head this way towards the nicely reconstructed square or leave it again and write modern history. As you head through the gate, take a look and stop in its arcade to find out who is the patron saint of the city. It's worth it! ??

The Prague Gate, also known as Veliká or Červená (Great or Red), stands on the north side of today's Plzeňská Street. The gate was built as a Gothic one in the 2nd half of the 13th century and is considered to be the second oldest town gate in the whole Czech. It was rebuilt in the 14th century and in the 15th century it was increased by the upper part. The inner gate was supplemented with a pre-gate fortification, which was built in the 1540s and was demolished in 1837. The gate tower is a five-storey building with four floors. Access to the first floor of the tower was originally from the city walls gallery and later from the neighboring granary to the western wall. The tower was originally covered with a hipped roof, today a low pyramid roof. The mighty five-sided barbacan was 15 meters in length according to archaeological research.
