Following directly along the path, in the deepening of Strahov gardens you will see a large stone cross with the image of the crucified Christ - another evidence that you are in the territory of the monastic possessions. Less than a hundred meters from the path, a massive wall rises all around the perimeter - these are the remains of a once powerful fortress wall that protect the city from external invasion. This wall will accompany you for a long time, sometimes turning into defensive tower structures, where you can freely enter and see them from within. Knowing the history of Prague, and the tragic events of the times of the Swedish invasion, pictures from the past are involuntarily emerging here. After all, the hordes of Swedes standing at these, when they broke through the defenses, invaded and ruined this peaceful monastery. Perhaps this lonely stone cross stands here as a reference to those tragic events. Unfortunately, I did not manage to find out, but only the fantasy of my thought, as a certain assumption.

Tall statue of Jesus on the Cross stands in the Great Strahov Garden (with 11 hectares it is the largest of all Petřín gardens) along the access road from the Strahov area to the Petřín Lookout tower area where the slopes of Petřín begin to descend northeast toward the Merciful Sisters Hospital of St. Karel Boromejský. Parallel to the road, the line of the Hungry Wall stretches through the garden, broken in two places - by the gate and the rear of the house where the director Elmar Klos lived. The house is practically a part of the wall and the garden is decorated with an impressive terrace.

A statue of Christ midst of trees, with blue sky and ample sun shine. Heavenly atmosphere.

After visiting Prague Castle and Strahov Monastery, we strolled through the Petrin forest. It was very comfortable and relaxing to walk on the lawn, especially after walking on the cobblestone road. I heard that the Hunger Wall beside the forest was built by Charles IV to provide work and pay for the poor.
