The impressive church of St. Petra is located in the northwest of Louny on Benedikt Rejt Square. In written sources is the church of St. Peter was first mentioned in 1359, but he is probably older. According to a building-historical survey, its oldest parts are its façade and nave, which may also contain Romanesque masonry. Today's appearance of the church is the result of reconstruction in the years 1456 -1463. It was restored by the architect Josef Mocker in the 1990s. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the cemetery at St. Petra is the main city burial ground. During the Josephine reforms in 1789, the church was abolished and consecrated and taken over by the municipality, from 1892 it belonged to the Evangelical Church, today it is again the property of the city.
