★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't expect an castle like you see in the movies. More like a modern take on one by people living a few hundred years ago. I'd say it's closer to a fortified manor house than a castle. But still worth a visit and a walk trough the nice park. It's easy to reach from prague by car though parking could be a bit of a chalenge during peek season.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice castle with beautiful park. Excellent for wedding. Lots of flowers, fountains and green labyrinths in the French garden. A large "semi-wild" English park with many walking trails.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small castle in rococo style was rebuilt in the 18th century after the original baroque castle was destroyed by fire. The castle was owned by Colloredo-Mannsfeld family till 1942 when it was appropriated by the German Reich. In 1945, it was confiscated by the Czechoslovak state and in 1998, the house was returned to the family. It was again renovated after that and now includes hotel, restaurant and a park. Park is under revitalization till 2020, so it was not possible that visit it, but it does look beautiful from outside.

The castle is a beautiful building of a three-winged Rococo castle with an extensive French and English park. Rococo castle at the foot of Brd. The summer colony of the great bat is located directly at the chateau, in the surrounding parks you can meet 7 other species of bats and other rare animals.
