A beautiful church just opposite the Dobříš chateau

Almost opposite the main entrance to the castle, one of the other monuments of the town of Dobříš often goes unnoticed. At this place used to stand the Loreto Chapel bl. Virgin Mary, which was demolished in 1794. The current church was built in the years 1794-1797 under Francis Gundakar I, Prince of Colloredo-Mannsfeld. The construction was carried out by František Josef Moravec probably according to the project of J. Jöndl. In 1867, some adjustments were made. Later, the church was rebuilt in the Baroque style according to the project of architect Antonín Wiehl, and in 1907 the church was consecrated again. It is a single-nave rectangular building with a semicircular presbytery. There were originally three bells on the church tower.

At the Mass held on December 28, 2021, a new organ was played here for the first time (Jan Jakub Ryba's Czech Christmas Mass was played). They were built by the Kánský organist - Brachtl from Krásná Loučka near Krnov. The required 4,300,000 crowns to cover the related costs were collected in a public collection within six years. ... The church is a protected monument.

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Dobris belongs to the Roman Catholic Church. It stands on the site of the former chapel of Loreto. The temple was built in 1794-1797 by Francis Gundakar I, Prince of Colloredo-Mannsfeld. The consecration of the temple was supposed to take place on October 27, 1797, but no evidence of this has survived. The first major renovation of the church was carried out in 1867 under the direction of the parish priest Frantisek Badjek. During the renovation, the main altar was restored, on which was placed a painting of the Holy Trinity from 1867 by the artist Joseph Hellich. At the end of the 19th century, several more modifications took place, when, among other things, the entrance to the choir was moved from outside the church. Another major restoration of the church took place after the transformation of the Dobris parish into a dean, which took place on December 31, 1901. Then the church was transformed in the Baroque style. The author of the reconstruction project was an outstanding architect of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries, a representative of historicism and Czech neo-Renaissance Antonin Ville. In subsequent years, various modifications were carried out.
