D	David G. Stone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prague is known for it's beer, which makes it all the more delectable to stumble upon one of the most classy cocktail bars you could visit in Europe. Upon entering you'll find a nice enough small galley style bar, though proceed beyond the bar to the narrow stone spiral staircase at back and descend to the basement level to find the real treat: a grotto style low-ceiling underground lounge with a tiny bar and quite the inventive list of cocktails. This is a great spot for small groups or individuals with a more refined taste than beer halls cater to, and for those who seek a more intimate nightlife than the massive dance clubs that attract many a tourist. The drinks are very good, certainly as good as you'll find in Prague, the bartenders are fun to chat with, and yes, true to their name, they accept cash only.

Cleared Penicillin is a highly recommended drink if you love whiskey! Options on the cocktail menu are not as many and as cool as they have it at Hemingway's but it definitely deserves a visit.

Always good to see the staff creating your drink right in front of you - so many ingredients & techniques involved in getting a good cocktail. One cocktail I will remember is the Penicillin - unique. Barman was very friendly & recommended other bars & restaurants to visit during or visit to Prague.

There was relaxing music playing in the background that fit the overall vibe and didn't distract from conversations. The service was also notable - very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. And the downstairs part of the bar is worth checking out! It's charming, classy, and beautiful. However, I found myself disappointed by how small the cocktails were, especially for the price. It's on the high side. They aren't made with much alcohol either. I had two cocktails, and I barely felt a buzz. For how expensive they are, I want to feel something! What a tease. I liked the concept of serving hotdogs alongside their cocktails so I ordered their signature one. Maybe it was because I wasn't too hungry, but it really wasn't anything special for the price (again, on the high side). All in all, I would come back if there was a happy hour (which I don't think there is), but I probably won't go out of my way to come back again.
