Nádherná ukázka atypické meziválečné architektury. Škoda, že není lépe opatrován a využíván, zvláště parter.
A wonderful example of atypical interwar architecture. Too bad it is not better cared for and used, especially the ground floor.

Apartment house Diamant is a cubist building in the center of Prague from 1913. The house also houses a bank, a gallery. The author is probably Emil Králíček. The owner of the house was the writer Adolf Hoffmeister. Cubist elements are still preserved in the interior. Interesting is the playhouse of the statue of St. John of Nepomuk, which blends beautifully the late Baroque and Cubism.

The house was built in 1912 by Matěj Blecha's company with facades in the style of classicizing Art Nouveau according to the plans of F. Ohmann. Even during 1912, the facades were reworked in the Cubist style, probably according to the project of Emil Králíček. It was completed in 1913. It is interestingly connected to the adjacent church of the Holy Trinity by a Cubist arcade from 1913, created according to the design of the architect Pfeiffer, under which stands a statue of St. Jan Nepomucký by Jan Brokoff from 1717.

Another house from the exceptional Cubist architecture in Prague. He needs restoration, he's somewhat decrepit ... Who's gonna take it?
