The beautiful house in Wallenstein Street was built in 1915 by architect Albert Vojtěch Velflík. The Belgian Embassy has been based here since 1919. Belgium was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Czechoslovakia. It´s diplomats belonged to the first users of the house, even lived here until 1965. Eventually, the already confiscated villa in Bubenec, which was built by architect Štíbr originally for his family, was assigned for their living after 1965. Neither the embassy nor the residence isn´t Belgian property. Její diplomaté patřily k prvním uživatelům domu, dokonce zde až do roku 1965 i bydleli.

Místo, okolí, zahrada, stavba, všechno okouzlující a přiměřené.
One of the most beautiful embassies in Prague. Location, surroundings, garden, construction, everything charming and reasonable.

The lady at the reception is really nice and useful. The consul is definitely not.

Consul Sophie de Vos should realize that she is paid from public money and that she is at embassy to help the Belgian citizens. Very arrogant and likes to show the power. I am happy that I didn’t have to spend in the same room more than 5 min with her. Arrogance of power par excellence. Other employees seem to be fine.
