The museum in Klatovy impressed us with both the exhibition and the approach of the employee. Currently, until February 2019, the MERKUR kit will be exhibited, including a conversation by Mr., who can also explain to children the principles that are the basis of the movement and function of the machine. In addition, a beautiful exhibition of the First Republic and tools from that time. We highly recommend and thank you!

I was looking forward to the museum (along with the Black Tower and catacombs) the most, but I was unlucky. Even though they tend to be open on Sundays, the next day was a public holiday, so they moved the closing day exactly to the date I arrived in front of the main entrance. Bad luck, but at least I looked at the beautiful house from outside. The building was built in 1904-1907 as a building of the Municipal Savings Bank in Klatovy according to the project of architect Rudolf Štech. On the ground floor were the offices of the savings bank, on the first floor there were the study rooms and the exhibition hall of the museum. In 1936, when a new building was built on Míru Square for the needs of the insurance company, the museum acquired the entire building. The museum is part of the urban conservation area, the building and the garden are registered as cultural monuments.
