The farewell memorial is the second memorial associated with the so-called Winton trains. It was ceremoniously unveiled on May 27, 2017 at Prague's Central Station.

The farewell memorial is the second memorial associated with the so-called Winton trains. It was ceremoniously unveiled on May 27, 2017 at Prague's Central Station. The memorial takes the form of an exact replica of a wooden door with external cladding from a passenger car III. class Ca series of a passenger train. It is an identical wagon with which 669 mostly Jewish children left Prague in 1939 (thanks to Sir Nicholas Winton). The farewell memorial was designed by Stuart Mason, the author of the glass decoration is the glassmaker Jan Huňát. The inspiration for the creation of the memorial was its creators, an original wagon used to transport Winton's children. This wagon has been preserved in the Bratislava Museum. The glazed part of the wagon door consists of a glass plate, which has molten "castings" of children's hands on one side and adult hands on the other. The glass castings were created by Milena Grenfell-Bains and Zuzana Marešová and the great-grandson of one of them. The memorial is made of bronze, it is placed on a marble pedestal with the bilingual inscription "FAREWELL MEMORIAL MEMORIAL AND is located in the passage from the departure hall to the platforms under the dome of the Art Nouveau Fanta Café. On the left side of the monument following text: The farewell memorial is a symbol of the courage and love of all parents who, in 1938 and 1939, regardless of their own destiny, put their children on trains, waved tears in their eyes and hearts and sent them to safety to save their lives. Very interesting place. The memorial is impressive and fits into the space.

Very organized. If you arrive early, you can find where to buy something to drink and eat on the way. Do not despair if the screen does not show the door number where your train leaves, it usually appears about 10 or 15 minutes before or you can also ask one of the workers (they are extremely friendly)
