★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We didn't stay here. They ask 400 czk (16 euro) a dog a night. So you pay 800 czk (32 euro) with two small dogs. We thought it was a mistake....but not.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurant is fabulous! Service was prompt and friendly, servings were generous, and quality of cuisine was outstanding. We ordered the cabbage soup, local wine, beer, beef belly and chicken. Highly recommended!

We liked the location of this restaurant, steps away from the entrance to the Melnik Chateau. The outdoor sitting area also looked inviting, so we went in for dinner with friends. The waiter spoke English, which helped, but the rest was a disappointment. The food took approx. 40 minutes (or more) to arrive, and when we got it the meat (both pork and beef) we ordered was tough and very chewy. There must be better places to eat in Melnik!
