V roce 1777 prosadil zbudování hřbitova Josef Jan Pánek a našel pro něj i místo zvané "U Háje", kde stála kaple sv. Kaple sv. Františka Xaverského dodnes stojí uprostřed staré části, dominantu východní části tvoří kaplová hrobka statkářské rodiny Doležalů (Dolleschalů). Poblíž jižní zdi se dochovaly nejstarší pískovcové náhrobky. The village Chvaly did not have a separate cemetery for a long time, although an independent parish was established in it since 1695, administered by the Jesuits. In 1777, Josef Jan Pánek promoted the construction of the cemetery and even found a place for it, where the chapel of St. Franncis Xaver. The new cemetery was consecrated on November 25, 1777. From March of the following year, the citizens of the surrounding villages of Čertousy and Horní Počernice were also buried here. Due to insufficient capacity, the cemetery was expanded in 1906 and then immediately after the WWI. The original chapel still stands in the middle of the old part, the dominant feature of the eastern part is the chapel tomb of the landowners Doležal family (Dolleschal). The oldest sandstone tombstones have been preserved near the southern wall.
