Nachdem er während des Konzils von Konstanz seine Lehre nicht widerrufen wollte, wurde er als Ketzer auf dem Scheiterhaufen verbrannt. Jan Hus was a Bohemian Christian theologian, preacher and reformer. At times he was rector of Charles University in Prague. After he did not want to revoke his teaching during the Council of Constance, he was burned as a heretic at the stake.

K slavnostní instalaci došlo teprve v roce 1925. Socha stojí na vysokém žulovém leštěném podstavci, na kterémje zaznamenána i část Husova dopisu Lounským z roku 1410. Autorem pomníku je Myslbekův žák Josef Kvasnička, který zachytil Husa v typické póze kazatele. Kolem nepřetržitě proudí, stejně jako v celém historickém centru, masa aut, navzdory zdražení PHM. Řada měst to vyřešila novými parkovacími místy v méně historicky cenných místech a důkladnou kontrolou a tvrdou diferenciaci cen parkování, pěšími zónami a pod. The monument, which you can read about in other reviews, stands in the parking lot called Peace Square. After peace and quiet in this area is not even a monument. As in the entire historic center, a mass of cars is flowing around it, despite the increase in fuel prices. Many cities have solved this with new parking spaces in less historically valuable places and thorough control and hard differentiation of parking prices, pedestrian zones and the like.
