Kácov Castle

The current appearance of the chateau in Kácov was imprinted by Grand Duchess Anna Marie of Tuscany, one of the most important and richest ladies of her time. Although she often did not stay at the chateau, because she suffered from luxury, she did not save on the building or decoration. The biggest attractions of the chateau include eleven blind windows, decorated with portraits of nobles so that all subjects feel that the manor is constantly watching them. Another unique feature of the chateau is the covered bridge that divides the chateau courtyard. At the top, it carries a 150-meter-long corridor that connects the castle with the adjacent parish church. The original Baroque tiles and partly windows and doors have been preserved here. The castle is undergoing reconstruction. She already looks very beautiful.

Although the castle is still under reconstruction, a lot of work has been done on the exterior. It will be beautiful, but in about 2 years, the interiors will have an awful lot of work and, of course, money. Fingers crossed! Beautiful quiet place by the river Sázava.
