Most people who travel in cars and trams along Plzeňská Street probably seldom raise their heads to look at a secluded hilltop with a cross. Only when you reach the top will you be amazed by the charm of this place and a pretty good view. However, the natural monument consists of two mutually separated rock areas on both sides of Plzeňská Street. The southern side is overgrown with a relatively secluded forest, in the northern part a forest park was established at the turn of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century, which today serves as a recreational area for the nearby Řepy housing estate. The whole area was declared a protected natural monument in 1982. It has an area of 3.71 hectares and lies at an altitude of 285 to 318 meters. Both dominant hills on the sides of Plzeňská Street are formed by Paleozoic rocks. The striking basalt rock above the Crematorium Motol is decorated with a cross visible from a distance with the year 1721 and the emblem of the Maltese Knights-Hospitalites, the oldest knightly series in the world.
