Ulice Příkopy - pokud je její původ odvozen stejně jako v Praze - vede místy, kde byl vyhlouben obranný příkop před hradbami, který měl v Horažďovicích úctyhodné rozměry. Obklopují ji přízemní domky, které se začaly stavět v době, kdy se město rozrůstalo i mimo opevnění. V místech, kde se ulice rozšiřuje, byla v roce 1738 postavena hezká barokní kaple. Její původní vzhled se sice nezachoval. Současná kaple je vysoká okolo tří metrů a základem je kamenný podstavec. V čelní a zadní části jsou dva širší výklenky. V nich jsou malby sv. Vojtěcha a ve druhém Panna Maria s Ježíšem. V bočním výklenku, směrem do ulice, je sv. Jan z Nepomuku. Kaple je zakončena dvěma zdobenými štíty, které nesou kamenné koule. Nad tím vším je kovový křížek. Od roku 1958 je zapsána do seznamu kulturních památek. V roce 1998 byla provedena obnova maleb v nikách. Jedná se o velmi zajímavý barokní objekt. The current chapel is about three meters high and it´s base is a stone pedestal. There are two wider niches in the front and back. In them are the paintings of st. Of Adalbert and in the second Virgin Mary with Jesus. In the side niche, towards the street, there is St. John of Nepomuk. The chapel is topped by two ornate shields bearing stone balls. Above all is a metal cross. Since 1958 it has been listed as a cultural monument. In 1998, the restoration of paintings in niches was carried out. It is a very interesting baroque building.

Příkopy Street - if its origin is derived in the same way as in Prague - leads to places where a defensive moat was dug in front of the walls, which had respectable dimensions in Horažďovice. It is surrounded by single-storey houses, which began to be built at a time when the city was growing beyond the fortifications.
