Although it is a late Renaissance work, it is not an exceptional work of art. The figure on the pillar was quite often the subject of whom he represents, today art historians believe that it is a frequent legendary symbol of the Knight Rolland in Western Europe, which, however, was an avid patriot, especially Hussite enthusiasm in the 19th / 20th century. incl. communists, didn't fit in very well.

In the middle of Žižka Square a Renaissance fountain was built by a stone mistress Ondřej of Susice between years 1567-68. The sculpture of the Knight Ronald is bearing the emblem of the city. The sculpture of the knight was probably named after one of the Hussite heroes, Koudel or Koudelka. It stands in the middle of a tank, on a pilaster a Corinthian head. The knight holds a banner in his hand as a symbol of the city's market law. The statues of Roland in the markets of medieval cities symbolized the judiciary and self-government of the city. They probably have their origins in northern France and were initially wooden. The prototype was the brave knight of Charlemagne (the epic Song of Roland). In each country, they modified the original model in their own way. For example, the German variant depicts a huge young man in armor. The first stone Roland on German soil was erected in Bremen in 1366. The work is a respectable nine meters high, of which only the statue is 5.45 meters.

The fountain in Zizkov Square in Tabor was built in 1567-1568. The stone for its construction was brought from a quarry near the Dobra-Voda settlement. The central place in the fountain is occupied by the sculpture of the flag-bearer, towering on a high stone pillar. According to the latest research, this statue symbolizes city government. In August 1877, the fountain was overhauled by the local builder Klier, and in October the architect Prochasek prepared a blueprint for the new formwork for the fountain. By the beginning of the 20th century, the fountain was noticeably dilapidated, which was also reported in 1910 in one of the articles of the city weekly Tabor. In 1925, the repair of the fountain was entrusted to the Tabor sculptor I. V. Dushek. The next renovation took place 43 years later, during the paving of Zizkov Square. The last complete renovation was carried out in 1996. When the fountain was being repaired, due to the poor condition of the statue, it was decided to make a copy of it, and the original was transferred to the storage. A novelty is the evening illumination of the fountain.
