The Celtic Culture Information Center was opened by the Institute of Archaeological Conservation in 2004 in the Nižbor chateau, in a more than convenient location - directly opposite the famous Stradonice town, to which you have a little over 2.5 km from the chateau along a marked route (all the time). you will be accompanied by the "educational trail of the Celtic town of Stradonice" with six stops). From April 2018, the permanent exhibition "Celts in the Heart of Bohemia" was modernized here. It occupies a corridor and several rooms on two floors of the castle and is divided into several thematic units. In the corridor you will find aerial photographs and information about our largest and most important oppidums, three of which (Stradonice, Závist u Zbraslavi and Hrazany) are located close to each other, west of Prague. One small room is styled like a Celtic dwelling, including clothes you can try on for yourself. Another room provides information on the daily life of the Celts. You will learn details about their craftsmanship, as well as how they mined and processed raw materials, how they lived and what they ate. Scenes and symbols from Celtic life are projected on the walls, and the exhibition also includes several touch monitors with additional information. A lot of information is presented very clearly, so it can interest the whole family. In other areas of the chateau you can see an exhibition called "First Republic Archeology", which describes the unprecedented flourishing of Czech professional archeology in the early 20th century until the late 1930s, when the promising development was interrupted by the German occupation. You can visit the expositions at the Nižbor chateau in May, September and October on weekends and public holidays from 10:00 to 17:00, and in June, July and August daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is 50 CZK for an adult, 20 CZK for a child.
