Although in the city, again a beautiful piece of nature, accessible to all, probably healthy and clean nature - and that's why you can, like us today, meet a beaver, for example ...

A wonderful place with a mysterious touch. Very good swimming in the Vltava river. There is a sandy shore, suitable for children. Natural swimming without facilities.

In the past, the Vltava's flow was much wider, which caused the water level to fluctuate more frequently and significantly. With each major water event, the Vltava's shoreline was flooded in the dead-end channels, creating pools and smaller flooded areas. For this reason, flood protection reservoirs were built here from the 19th century onwards. However, they gradually lost their importance, mainly due to the construction of the cascades on the Vltava, and gradually became overgrown. As always, nature itself took care of the domination of the right bank of the Vltava River. A valuable biotope of wetland communities has been created here, where many species of birds have found refuge in addition to rare plant species, and the pools serve as breeding grounds for amphibians. Therefore, the area of almost 13 hectares was declared a natural monument on 1 November 2014.
