Původní dřevěný kostel, který byl v roce 1516 na místě popraviště postaven na popud pražského měšťana Ondřeje Prachovce, zničili v roce 1634 Švédové. V letech 1665–1666 na jeho místě vyrostl zděný jednolodní raně barokní kostel s barokním inventářem. Josef II. nechal kostel v roce 1784 zrušit a jeho vybavení prodat v dražbě, již o několik let později však byl obnoven, už jen jako hřbitovní kaple. Dnes objekt slouží jako kulturní centrum s kapacitou 60 míst k sezení. Today, the beautifully reconstructed church stands on the site of the execution of 10 leaders of the Kutná Hora miners' rebellion in 1496.
