The massive early Baroque church of St. John the Baptist is connected to the old rock church - the cave of St. John. In addition to the monuments to the hermit, there is also a crypt and old tombstones of the abbots of the monastery. In the part of the cave we can admire the original stalactite decoration. On the main altar is a large painting "Revelation of St. John the Baptist to the hermit Ivan ”from 1695. Above the altar stands a large cross, which was once donated here by pilgrims from the Old Town of Prague. It originally stood on the memorable Charles Bridge in Prague. In the middle of the church stands the richly decorated tomb of St. Ivan, where a silver-plated and gilded box with the remains of the hermit Ivan is located. Built around the place where the original church carved in the cave in the rock with mares and facilities, where the hermit Ivan lived. We were very lucky, the guide in the church gave us an extensive explanation and pointed out several interesting things. Photographs are not allowed in the church for a fee.
