Nádherný gotický kostel, dnes vyveden v růžovo-oranžové barvě, působí jako zjevení z pohádky. Původně byl Janem IV. z Dražic zasvěcen sv. Ludmile. Ty byly postupně odkryty a zrestaurovány. The beautiful Gothic church, now set in pink/orange, acts as a fairy tale revelation. Originally it was dedicated to St. Ludmile by Jan IV. from Dražice. The original single-nave Gothic structure has survived to the present times with some changes. The first reconstruction works took place in the 16th century, but the church gradually ceased to be used for liturgical purposes and was dilapidated. In the 18th century a new rebuilding was carried out - the façade of the church was remade in Baroque form, the hall was built and a small annex was added. In 1783 it was dismissed and abolished. In 1827, the building was sold at an auction and continued to be used for various economic purposes. The church was repaired at the beginning of the last century thanks to the activities of the Director of Družstevní závody in Dražice František Hofman and in 1926 it was consecrated again. Preservationist discovered fragments of wall paintings under the plaster. These were gradually uncovered and restored. If you want to get closer to the church (the surrounding site is a former graveyard), and you will come down the road from the ruins of Dražice castle, you have to come out a hillock, and at the junction you turn left. After about 30 meters (again on your left hand), you will walk through the gate into an extensive courtyard with residential houses, farm buildings and stables. From here you can go through the low gate to the church grounds.
