Za husitských válek byl zdejší kněz vypuzen a kostel zůstal dlouho pod správou faráře z Drahoňova Újezda. Za třicetileté války byl vypálen švédskými vojsky. Roku 1659 byly Skryje přiděleny ke skřivaňské faře a později k Panošímu Újezdu. Nový majitel křivoklátského panství hrabě z Valdštejna nechal kostel svatého Michaela Archanděla v roce 1696 opravit, postavil novou zvonici, která byla dosud dřevěná, a v roce 1712 zbudoval od základu nový kostel nákladem 2 588 zlatých. V roce 1839 byl kostel znovu opraven. Před západním průčelím kostela stojí památná lípa malolistá. Jako památný strom je chráněna již od 25.7.1978. Jedná se o solitérní strom o celkové výšce 15 metrů a obvodu kmene 330 cm. The first report of the Church of St. Michael Archangel in Skryje dates back to 1350, when it was proclaimed as a parish.
