★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This square had different names in the past - Rynk, Lesser Town rynek, Štěpánské square, as well as marshal Radecký Square and Radek Square, since the monument of the imperial master marshal Josef Wenceslas Radecký from Radec was standing here here in 1858-1919. With the demolition of several houses on the southern side of the square around the turn of the century a so-called breakthrough was created, which also meant the breakthrough for a modern technology (electric trams) in the Lesser Town. On the north side of the square, in the recently reconstructed Smiřice and Sternberg palaces, there are now offices and rooms of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
