★ ★ ★ ★ ★ В центральной части площади старосты Павла в Кладно расположена Марианская колонна или как его именнуют ещё - Чумной столб. Наверное, вы уже заметили, что подобный памятник есть практически в любом городе Европы. Ведь когда эта болезнь свирепствовала здесь и горожане устанавливали в своих городах подобные памятники - символы освобождения от чумной напасти.
Барочная Марианская колонна в Кладно представляет из себя эпическую скульптурную группу, выполненную из песчаника в 1741 году. Высота самой калонны достигает почти 10 метров. Авторами этого памятникс являются архитектор Клиан Игнац Динценхофер, скульптор Карел Йозеф Хирнле и каменщик Иоганн Баумгартнер. Иконографию работы отражает спонсор, аббат Бржевнов-Броумов Беннон Лёбль. Верхняя статуя Девы Марии с младенцем Иисусом окружена четырьмя святыми - Бенно, Адальберт, Бенедикт и Ян Непомутский.
Предшественником самой колонны был городской столб, который затем перенесли на место сегодняшней ратуши, где он просуществовал до его разборки в 1879 году.
In the central part of the square of the headman of Pavel in Kladno there is the Mariana Column or, as it is named, the Plague Column. You probably already noticed that such a monument is in almost any city in Europe. After all, when this disease was rampant here and the townspeople erected similar monuments in their cities - symbols of liberation from the plague.
The baroque Mariana column in Kladno is an epic sculptural group made of sandstone in 1741. The height of the column reaches almost 10 meters. The authors of this monument are the architect Klian Ignaz Dintsenhofer, the sculptor Karel Josef Hirnle and the bricklayer Johann Baumgartner. The iconography of the work reflects the sponsor, Abbot Brzhevnov-Broumov Bennon Löble. The upper statue of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus is surrounded by four saints - Benno, Adalbert, Benedict and Jan of Nepomutsky.
The forerunner of the column itself was a city pillar, which was then transferred to the site of today's town hall, where it lasted until it was disassembled in 1879.

It is a nice little city with shops, supermarkets a shipping center and some good restaurants. The prices are really fair and the food is good.
