The first written mention of the village dates from 1653. The predecessor of the Tisza was the village of Schönstein with a fortress, which was located on the eastern slope of the Tisza hill. It was founded by the Vartenberks during their ownership of the Děčín estate. Between 1554 and 1557, Günter of Bünau built a new courtyard and castle here, which was burned down during the Thirty Years' War and the surrounding farms in 1631 and was never rebuilt. The settlement of Tisá then became the new settlement center. After 1750, the button industry started in Tisá. Today, less than a thousand permanent residents live here.
