Original Souvenir is a cozy shop at the heart of Prague. We sell traditional souvenirs such as hand-painted Moravian Easter eggs, ceramic goods, embroidered blankets, wooden toys, Christmas decorations, marionettes and more. All products are handmade in the Czech Republic.

The oldest decorated Easter eggs are 2300 years old, the first historically documented coloring of eggs is from 1290 when King Edward I had a golden color of 450 eggs as a gift. Easter eggs, according to some historical considerations, appeared 5,000 years before Christ, but of course it can not be proven. However, the painting and decorating of Easter eggs is not related to Christian traditions, because the egg dyed long before the ecclesiastical Easter holidays.
