Unique Blue Room is the place where the famous Czech composer lived and worked (1906-1942). The room in which the Memorial is located is part of a private flat in it´s original condition from the early 1930s. The interior was designed by his friend, architect Franz Zelenka, who was also the author of stage design for the Liberated Theater. Hedgehog left for emigration on January 9, 1939 together with Jan Werich. They flew through Zurich to Paris and then left the Aquitania to New York. The blue room was maintained by Ježek's mum František (2. 1. 1880 - 3. 1. 1966) throughout the war in the unchanged state and waited for the Ježek to return. Ježek's mother František (January 2, 1880 - January 3, 1966) kept the blue room unchanged throughout the war and waited for Ježek to return. However, he died in exile on January 1, 1942.
