The elevator is really interesting! Bonus, there is a similar one in Palác Lucerna where the inverse horse statue is. But this one in city hall hasbetter decoration and no restrictions to the visitor.

It may just be a city hall, but it has a secret. Check out the back of the buildning and you will find a old elevator that never stops, watch your head when you jump into it. It´s free for everybody to enter the building so don´t be afraid to try it out.

A little unknown secret is in the back of the building. An old pater noster elevator. Just walk in the building and head all the way to the back. The elevator is fully functional. Children will enjoy but mind the younger ones

I am writing the review only for the Bistro "Büfett" in the ground floor of the city hall Building. The Bistro served good quality local and cheap Czech food. The food is very delicious, clean and cheap compared to other restaurents in downtown. A big portion dish could costs about 4 to 5 Euro. This Bistro is open for public and they serve Breakfast, Lunch and desserts.

It's important to enjoy the small things in life. While some visitors to Prague love the big cathedrals, the splendid vistas and the baroque palaces (and there's nothing wrong with that, of course), there is a small, hidden gem, that some of you may enjoy too. Not the latest or the flashiest thing in Prague, or even the oldest or the most valuable things you will see in Prague. You can find here an old #paternoster elevator. What is a paternoster elevator, we hear you ask? A “paternoster” is an old-timer elevator that consists of a chain of open compartments that move slowly up and down in an infinite loop (which reminds you of a Rosary, hence the title "pater nosher", "Our Father"). To get to the floor you need to get to, you hop in a compartment and, on reaching the required floor, you just hop off. You cannot stop the elevator, you cannot call the elevator. This just goes and goes in an infinite loop ?

Terrible service. My father had died visiting us from Greece and we needed one stamp from the municipality for the death certificate. I visited the office on a Thursday with my mother and the two ladies denied to accept us saying that on Thursday’s they do not accept people. It was just a stamp, two seconds job, my mother was crying and they said to us NO , tomorrow come. I really wander if the two ladies had ever parents??? So inhuman and apathetic. I feel really sorry for them.
