The Paradise Court (lat. Paradisus, claustrum) is a square or rectangular atrium in the middle of monastic, capital and similar buildings, lined by a cross passage and usually landscaped as a garden. Since the early Middle Ages, it has been the core of the monastery, where a significant part of monastic life is taking place, separate from economic operations and the surrounding world at all. It is not accessible to the general public and in particular to persons of the opposite sex (clausure). The extensive monastery complex between Jilská, Jalovcová and Husova streets undergoes a reconstruction (from 2018) and should be occasionally accessible to the public. Personally, I am very excited to have the opportunity to visit those places. To visit an oasis of tranquility in the middle of a busy city is always an interesting and impressive experience. Interesting fact: The buildings around the square courtyard with arcades was taken over in the Middle Ages by schools and universities, later by the palaces and public buildings. Rajský dvůr (lat. paradisus, claustrum) je čtvercové nebo pravoúhlé atrium uprostřed klášterních, kapitulních a podobných budov, lemované křížovou chodbou a obvykle upravené jako zahrada. Od raného středověku tvoří jádro kláštera, kde se odehrává podstatná část mnišského života, oddělená od hospodářského provozu a okolního světa vůbec. Není přístupný veřejnosti a zejména osobám opačného pohlaví (klausura).
