★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good dishes, rather cheap. Only disappointment was burger, that was dry and cremated. Better get some Czech classics, that was awesome. Friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a lot of privacy here (inside a yard), and no noise at all. Non-pasteurized beer from monastery available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This little gem is a typical, unpretentious Czech restaurant. Mostly for locals. They have a good selection of Czech foods and also some seasonal options. Some of them healthy, all of them very reasonably priced. There's a typical cukrárna (candy store) right in the restaurant, so desserts are taken care of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as the waiters realised we weren't Czech, they became very rude and hostile towards us. We ordered some drinks and they then stared at us and made what we think are rude comments about us.
When we asked for a menu in English (which we had been told they have), the waiter responded by saying 'yes', and then brought over a menu in Czech. When we asked again for a menu in English, the waiter responded: "No. This is the Czech Republic." The waiter then turned their back and stormed off.
We felt very unwelcome, and soon left. It felt like a Czech restaurant only for Czech people.
I was very sad to see this kind of nationalism and hostility to foreigners. One of the main reasons I don't speak Czech is that my family fled what was then Czechoslovakia due to the Nazis, and I was brought up in another country. I was coming to Prague in part to visit distant relatives who survived.
It's unrealistic to expect foreigners to speak anything beyond very basic Czech. Czech is a very complicated language, with only several million people speaking it.
It's terrible to discrimate against people in a restaurant just because of their nationality/which language they speak. Can the owners/waiters please change their ways and be more welcoming to all people! All of us need to eat and drink!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stumbled across this family run restaurant when walking to see Dukla Praha's stadium. It's clearly not used to tourists (the staff knew very little English) and it is very quiet (e.g. no music/tele) but I liked it's quaint feel and enjoyed my pint.
