★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pomník bratranců Veverkových vytvořil Josef Strachovský. Jeho návrh byl vybrán porotou, již předsedal dr.Miroslav Tyrš. Sousoší bylo odhaleno 8.9.1883 při celonárodním srazu českého rolnictva v Pardubicích, po slavnostním projevu F.L.Riegra. V předvečer byly Pardubice poprvé osvětleny elektrickým proudem. Tehdy zde ing. František Křižík instaloval 4 obloukové lampy.
 The memorial of the cousins of Veverka was created by Josef Strachovský. His proposal was chosen by a jury chaired by Dr. Miroslav Tyrš. The sculptural group was unveiled on September 8, 1883 at a nationwide meeting of the Czech peasantry in Pardubice, following a solemn speech by F.L.Riegr. On the eve of Pardubice, it was first illuminated by electric current. At that time ing. František Křižík installed 4 arc lamps.
