Dont go there unless there is no other available hospital left in town. I had a really bad experience there and dont feel the doctors I met treat people with their heart. I came to the dermatology dept. for examining my allergic skin, arrived at 8.30 and till 10.30 I got my turn (preferism for locals to skip the line). Then after reading my sickness reports they decided to transfer me to Bohunice (even though St.Anne is supposed to be the best dermatology in Brno). I waited for one hour for ambulance and they kept telling me to wait. I felt worse and the my skin is swollen, till then they let me lie down and still wait for ambulance (still NO TEMPORARY MEDICAL TREATMENT). I asked my friend to come to escort me Bohunice hospital, and they didnot allow us to go but wait for ambulance, but they said it is in 2 hours. We ask them to provide temporary treatement and the nurse said the doctor went to lunch, how ridiculous!. I felt really disappointed with such attitude and we finally decided to leave as it was around 1pm as the Bohunice's dermatology dpt would be close around 3pm. I was skeptical before going to Anne hospital after reading all the bad review, but so sad those reviews are actually telling the real ugly truth. To the doctors: Sick people come to hospital to seek for treatment, so please treat them with your heart!

Our many experiences with this hospital can be described with only one word RACISM! If you don't speak english get ready for a bumpy ride because the head doctors of this hospital are pure racists. A couple of doctors/nurses(young) are very friendly but thats it. Why I hate this hospital: 1)Many of my friends had only negative reviews about this hospital 2)The head doctor of surgery department showed how racist he is more than once. Asked me what languages I speak and he started judging me for not learning the Czech language well since I study here. I told him I speak English but he ignored me and asked me if I speak French, Italian or German instead. After having his fun he proceeded to speak with me in English language. 3)My friend had a serious heart problem and they just left him outside of the examination room, they told us to wait 40 minutes while he was screaming in pain, the minutes became hours and they were pretending that we are not there, they even closed the door so that they could not hear the screams. Asked again when the doctor will come and just received the usual "in 40 minutes". I started shouting at the nurse to get him help immediately and she started shouting at me and called her boss to complain instead of helping. Magically her boss appeared and finally examined my friend. But that wasn't the end of it, he first gave me a lecture and started threatening me to stop complaining about his nurses and continued with "if you don't leave I will not examine your friend". 4)Refusing to prescribe medicine that actually helps and just prescribe Panadol which you can get without their help. (Antiviral pills to treat awful virus on exam period - instead got Panadol and "it should be gone in 2 weeks") 5)Wrong diagnosis, wrong medication prescribed, wrong advice from the doctor which led to health problems 6)Due to hospital signs being only in Czech I asked where I could find a doctor to examine my friend , and each building was sending us to another building then to another until 5 buildings started making a circle and sending us back and forth instead of one just treating us. We ended up on the first building in the end. 7)Even the nurses advised me to write a formal letter to the person controlling the hospital to report this. 8)No signs in english so you have no idea where to go. If it's an emergency - you are screwed. 9)Lots of empty buildings, old structures

I visited the St. Anne's University Hospital Brno more than 15 times in the past 2 years, and the impressions were quite mixed. I had my gallbladder taken out in January 2018 and the whole time spent there was really good. From the nurses in the patient room, to the surgeons, to the anesthetist who came to introduce herself before the surgery - all were really friendly and either spoke English or had someone with them who did. I just wanna say that I speak enough Czech to get along even without English. Even more friendlier staff I encountered at the Ultrasound department where a younger doctor who speaks English, and her older assistant who doesn´t were amazingly friendly and helpful every time I visited. Also friendly staff at the Endoscopy department even without English, quite helpful. BUT, there is always a but - the reception desk and 2/3 of the doctors at the I. Chirurgická klinika (the first place you visit usually) are subhumans who hate themselves firstly and then everybody else! One of the female doctors I ended up with during a check-up, was asking me quite aggressively how long I am in the Czech Republic and why I don´t speak better Czech - all of that while I was lying on the bed in pain. Just one of the examples how pathetic those people are and hateful towards foreigners, independent of your status, language skills, education, job title etc., believe me. The reception desk is a nightmare for itself, not only for foreigners but also for Czech people. There are really good and friendly doctors, nurses, staff at the St. Anne´s Hospital, but sadly they are not heard due to these horrible human beings who should be ashamed for treating people like they do and ruining the reputation of the hospital and those staff who is actually doing a great job.

I visited this hospital today for a vaccination and everything was excellent. My Czech isn't very good, but they spoke perfect English with me; and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. It was quick and efficient and even though im scared of needles, they were very kind and reassuring.

Totally not recommended! Why? Read the story: Me and my wife missed our flight due to their mistake, they got postive result for my wife, whereas next day she tested negative both for new antigen and PCR test (by the way in Elizabeth Pharmacon totally recommended, result given in 4 just hours), plus its already 2 days I am waiting my results! And this is not the first such story I heared after our bad experience.

They will NOT care about you if you are a foreigner. No one speaks english, which is not a big deal if you want to help someone. The thing is they don't even bother to read the Google translated messages I was wrighting. Despicable attitude, literally making fun of me by telling me to go from one floor to another, and another, all just to tell me that they are not going to get me a doctor in the end. I was so tired and in so much pain due to my health condition and they showed zero susceptibility and zero kindness. Two hours walking around for nothing. This hospital is a joke.

If you get sick while in the Czech Republic, do not expect to get help from an emergency room! No matter where you're from including the Czech Republic, run to Germany or Austria as quick as you can. They will not treat you unless you're visibly dying in front of them. Even at a private clinic, there is a 4-6 week wait. If you think you are having a stroke, get E-Vac to the nearest town on the Austrian or German border. This is not a joke nor an exaggeration. I had to give it 1 Star, so I can warn traveling Americans. Don't get sick in Czechia!
