Je to vedle krypty sv. Kosmy a Damiána nejstarší budova ve Staré Boleslavi, která se dochovala do našich dob v takřka nezměněné podobě a náleží k nejstarším chrámovým stavbám v českých zemích vůbec. Je zasvěcený jednomu z prvních papežů, mučedníku sv. Klimentu, byl na akropoli boleslavského hradiště postaven v 11. století a je svědectvím působení cyrilometodějské misie v našich zemích. Z poloviny století 12. se datuje jeho románská fresková výzdoba, nejstarší v Čechách, přinášející obrazy ze života sv. Klimenta, jehož ostatky z černomoří do Říma přenesli sv. Konstantin a Metoděj.
One-sided longitudinal tribune church of St. Kliment, considered by the experts as a chapel of the former castle in Boleslav, stands in the immediate vicinity of St. Wenceslas Basilica. It is together with the crypt of St. Kosma and Damian's oldest building in Old Boleslav, which has survived to our times in almost unchanged form and belongs to the oldest temple buildings in the Czech lands. It is consecrated to one of the first pope, the martyr St. Kliment, and it was built in the 11th century at the acropolis of the Boleslav´s fortress and is a testimony to the activities of the Cyril and Methodius Mission in Czech. The Romanesque fresco decoration, the oldest in Bohemia, dating to half of 12. century is bringing a pictures from the life of St. Kliment, whose remains were carried over from the Black Sea to Rome by St. Konstantin and Methodius.
