 The monument to Jaroslav Hašek is made in a modern design, especially a state-of-the-art horse. I don't know what Mr. Hasek himself would say, maybe he would laugh.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Памятник Гашеку выполнен в стиле сюреализма. Бюст стоящий на постаменте, который обрамляет невероятный конь. Вызывает неоднозначное впечатление.
Следует отметить, что до момента открытия памятника знаменитому чешскому писателю Ярославу Гашеку, написавшего книгу "Похождения бравого солдата Швейка", другого не было по всей Чехии.
Памятник был установлен на Прокоповой площади пражского района Жижков, где неподалеку, на Йеронимовой улице, несколько лет жил сам Ярослав Гашек. Автор скульптуры Карел Непраша.

The monument was erected on the Prokopov Square in the Prague district of Zizkov, where Jaroslav Hasek himself lived for several years, on Jeronimova Street. The author of the sculpture is Karel Neprasha.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This monument stands in tribute to Jaroslav Hašek a Czech writer, humorist, satirist and journalist. The monument is a stylised equestrian sculpture. The horse is in the shape of a table with structures added to make the artistic intentions clear. Hašek is depicted as a bust atop a plinth and laid down on the table as if riding the horse.
This modern art sculpture is well intentioned, but probably not to everyone’s taste. I along came across this sculpture on my way to the national monument. Unless you’re into modern art or interesting in the author, this monument is too far out of the way from the main tourist circuit to warrant visiting.
