Beautiful city, rich in history. Beautiful castle. Too bad it's near the main road. Unfortunately, at the time of the visit, only the black kitchen and the castle tower were under reconstruction. I give and stars.

A small space between the former castle residence of the Maltese order, the church of St. Prokop and the building of the former manorial brewery is the first place you can get to when visiting the building. I was most impressed by the massive silhouette of the presbytery of the church of St. Prokop heading east. The first complex of buildings around the entrance gate is the former Grand Prior's residence in the northeastern part of the castle. It consists of two wings connected at right angles. Originally, there were stone walls, a gate to the city with a tower and houses for servants. The one-storey residence was built around 1715, on the facade you will find the coat of arms of the builder Baron Dubský with the year 1716. Above the main entrance is the Order of St. John (a white octagonal cross in a red pleated cloak and an oval emblem of the Čejkov family). Today, the premises house the basic art school and the castle information center. A small space between the former castle residence of the Maltese Order, the Church of Sts. Prokop and the building of the former manor brewery is the first place to visit when you enter the building complex. St. Prokop church presbytery heading east is really very impressive. The first building around the entrance gate is the former Grand Priory Residence in the northeast of the castle. It consists of two right-angled wings. Initially the stone walls, a gateway to the city with a tower, and servants' houses stood at those places. The one-storey residence was built around 1715, on the facade you can find a coat of arms of Baron Dubský, the builder and the year 1716. Above the main entrance there is a coat of arms of Johanites. Nowadays a basic art school and a castle information center is located in it.

The castle of the old Strakonice is located within the city, on the banks of a picturesque and fast-flowing river!
