V roce 1315 kopec s hradištěm daroval Jan Lucemburský Bavorům. Později byl jako jeho majitel označován Půta Švihovský z Rýzmberka. V 15. století byl hrad na mapě označen jako pustý. Dnes slouží k turistickým účelům. Very nice ruins of Prácheň castle with a very rich history. The castle has been around since the time of the Přemyslids who had it built here. Přečtete si historii, pověsti o propadlém zvonu a pak vyražte. Pro děti bude zábava zkoumat zbytky pokojů a zdí, přemýslet kde může ten zvon plný zlaťáků být a určitě budou chtít zkusit kam vedou všechny vyšlapané cestičky. ? Těch je tam mnoho. Hlavně je tam klid a málo kdy se potkáte s dalšími turisty. Za mého dětství jsme na Prácheň pořádali výpravy, prošmejdili každý kout a nakonec opekli buřty v jedné "komnatě". ?
