Temple Palace

The late Gothic town palace was built by Jan Císař of Hliník around 1490 on a slope above the Jizera beyond the course of the town walls. The palace was named Templ after an unsubstantiated legend, according to which it was built for the Templar order, whose members were to be brought to Mladá Boleslav from his travels in Europe by Jan of Michalovice, one of the leading Czech nobles during the reign of King Wenceslas II. In 1886, the Regional Museum Association acquired it into its administration, which opened its first exhibition here the following year. Today, the permanent multimedia museum exhibition will take you through the history of the city from prehistory to 1600, when Mladá Boleslav was promoted to a royal city. The exposition exhibits not only authentic objects, but also entire finds, as archaeologists have discovered them. In the lowest part of the Temple, it is created according to a real model of a simulation of a cave, a possible shrine of the Celts. The temple is also very popular with children - they can try the work of archaeologists, throw imitation of prehistoric spears at mannequins of hunted animals or build a wooden model of some important Mladá Boleslav building. That is why schools and kindergartens from a wide area come here. A nice monument tucked away from the square in Mladá Boleslav. The nice lady took us around the building from the cellar to the upper floor where there are exhibitions. Nicely designed exposition. Worth a visit.

The exhibition in the historic Temple is interesting, the tour is so long that you enjoy it. I liked that you can take out a coin yourself at the box office for 20 crowns. There are several ideas to choose from and it's a nice souvenir.
