The church stands above the highest point of Podmokelská Teplická street, about 400 m from the main railway station, at the bus stop Teplická, but it is a pleasant 10-minute walk from the station. The building in that misty December morning looked like a backdrop for the horror movie, and only when you stand nearby does it realize how high the work is. The Pseudo-Gothic / Neo-Romanesque church was built in 1881-1884 (designed by G. L. Moeckel, builder W. Nickel) with the significant contribution of industrialist Franz Jordan. The original Baroque pilgrimage church was built in this place between 1722-1732 from the enthusiasm of local parishioners for the blessing of the new Czech patron Saint. John of Nepomuk. Under Joseph II. was canceled and later dismantled. In 1868–1872, Count Franz Anton Thun had a neo-Gothic chapel with a family tomb built in its place. Members of the Thun-Hohenstein family were buried here until 1935. After the war, the object remained aside and suffered from frequent attacks by vandals. They eventually forced the exhumation of the remains and their transfer to the crypt of the Church of the Elevation. Crisis. In 1998, an exhibition on the history of the building was installed in the chapel. Since June 2008, the chapel has been administered by the contributory organization Zámek Děčín. A place with a wonderful atmosphere, but I wouldn't want a wedding there.

A beautiful place in the corner of Děčín, with an adjacent park. It is worth visiting and thinking for a moment about the transience of life
