All Olomouc fountains are worth a visit. I just think they need some maintenance. I'm sorry for the way some people treat them. I would give heavy fines for any vandalism and I would use them for repairs.

Olomouc is called the city of fountains. Of course, this is not Peterhof, where the scale and splendor of water architectural sculptures correspond to the spirit of imperial independence, but each of them is filled with its own meaning and purpose. Each fountain in Olomouc has its own name: Caesar, Juriter, Mercury, Neptune and others, most often associated with deities from Roman mythology. Unlike the above, the Triton fountain was created not as a decorative decoration, but for practical reasons. After a terrible fire that devastated Olomouc in 1707, it was decided to build the Tritan Fountain as a spare fire reservoir. And it was in 1709. The sculptor of this fountain is the famous master Vaclav Render. But the name of his co-author and assistant, unfortunately, is unknown, and causes only guesswork among historians. The Triton Fountain belongs to the complex of baroque fountains in Olomouc and is considered the most artistically valuable. Initially, the fountain stood at the intersection of Ztracena, Ostruzhnitska and Denisova streets. It was moved to Republic Square, where the fountain now stands, in 1890. Look at the fountain itself: it is decorated with a sculptural group where two Tritons carry a shell with a boy and sea dogs on their shoulders. The two dolphins on either side are the nozzles of the fountain. It should be noted that this composition was influenced by the famous Roman fountain Triton by Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini in Piazza Barberini.
