Od roku 1850 jsou Žabonosy samostatno obcí v okresu Kolín. Dnes na katastrálním území o rozloze 310 hektarů žije přibližně 250 obyvatel. The beginnings of the village probably date back to the early Middle Ages, as evidenced by the oldest construction phase of the Church of St. Wenceslas from the beginning of the 11th century. However, the oldest written sources have been preserved from the High Middle Ages, when they were first mentioned in 1352 in the lists of the papal tithe. Since 1850, Žabonosy has been an independent municipality in the Kolín district. Today, approximately 250 inhabitants live in the cadastral area of 310 hectares.
