Trať vystavěla společnost Ústecko-teplická dráha mezi lety 1896–1898 jako druhý úsek své Severočeské transverzálky. Roku 1900 byla trať prodloužena až do cílového Liberce. Zdejší železniční most nad osadou Karba patřící do katastru Zahrádek je zařazen k technickým památkám. Ostatně k osadě je to z nádraží jemně přes pět minut pěšky a návštěva rozhodně stojí za to! V roce 2009 stanice Zahrádky zvítězila v soutěži o nejkrásnější české nádraží. R	Regina Jonášová on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zajímavá stavba, odlesk někdejší slávy. Zahrádky získaly před lety titul nejkrásnějšího nádraží ČR. An interesting building, a reflection of former glory. Years ago, the gardens won the title of the most beautiful railway station in the Czech Republic.
R	Radka Volopichova on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hodnocení jako takové je nízké, neboť o místo se momentálně nejspíše moc nestarají. Poskytlo nám chládek, přístřeší a posezení při čekání na vlak. Ovšem společnost nám dělal bordel okolo. Jistě to zde v době provozu vypadalo skvěle. The rating as such is low, as they probably don't care much about the place at the moment. It provided us with coolness, shelter and sitting while waiting for the train. But the company made us mess around. It certainly looked great here during the operation.

I	Irena B. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tak tohle nádražíčko už má asi to nejlepší za sebou, ale i tak je jedno z těch hezčích. Bohužel tady nepotkáte žádného člověka od dráhy a že by se jich tam vešlo ?! So this station probably has the best behind it, but it's still one of the nicer ones. Unfortunately, you will not meet any people from the track here and that they would fit in there ?!
