Škola ve Vokovicích byla vystavěna mezi lety 1885-86. Už v roce 1899 byla přestavěna a rozšířena Josefem Ruprechtem a znovu rozšířena o jižní křídlo o osm let později stavitelem Emilem Konárovským. The school in Vokovice was built between 1885-86. Already in 1899, it was rebuilt and expanded by Josef Ruprecht and again extended by the south wing eight years later by the builder Emil Konárovský. In 1913, the object was expanded by the builder Josef Zábranský, and in the 1920s, the north wing and gym were added. As I stood at the busy intersection of Evropská and Vokovická streets, I tried to imagine how picturesque and quiet it must have been at the time the school was founded. Although the Lány horse-drawn carriage was replaced by a steam railway as early as 1863, almost two decades before the construction of the school building, the road transport with horse-drawn carriages must have been incredibly romantic and reassuring than today - after all, the first cars were not manufactured in Czech until the end of the 19th century.
