Those fountains are like a fist on the eye, I would put them away.

Quite interesting small fountains made in the form of letters are installed in Republic Square in three corner spaces. The fourth corner space is crowned by the Plague Column. Thus, the author wanted to balance the entire spatial environment of the square, giving it a logical completeness.

Original, modern solution of water element in public space. There are three on the square and even the locals, not so troubled tourists, which is which (see photos).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The fountains are located in the three corners of Republic Square (in the fourth there is a Plague Column). The author of the fountains is the architect Ondřej Císler, whose proposal was selected in an architectural competition from 42 designs. They were ceremoniously put into operation on July 29, 2010. The fountains depict a greyhound, an angel and a camel from the Pilsen city emblem. On the surface they are decorated with gold leaf. As I read on the web, the works provoked from the beginning, which is always better after all than if they did not arouse any emotion. People either condemned them as unacceptable or, on the contrary, they liked them very much. Experts generally praise them.
Slavnostně byly uvedeny do provozu 29. července 2010. Kašny znázorňují chrtici, anděla a velblouda z plzeňského městského znaku.
