Nicely reconstructed Baroque work. In fact, it is a replica, but in any case it is a nice dominant of the repaired square in front of the town hall.

The sculptural group of the crucified Jesus Christ and the kneeling Mary Magdalene dominates the historic village square. The massive stone pedestal is made of granite, the sculpture itself is made of fine-grained sandstone. The author of the work is Jan Antonín Quitainer (1709-1765), the son of Ondřej Filip Quitainer, who was previously considered the creator himself. This Czech late Baroque carver and sculptor (Jan) created mainly for Prague's temples. The work was created in 1760, as evidenced by the signature A Q and the date on the back of the cross. In 1974, the sculptural group was restored. Academic sculptors Vojtěch Adamec and Martin Pokorný have been working on a copy of the work since 2001, so that nine years later the original can be moved to the Lapidary of the National Museum and a very successful copy of the work has returned to the Březan square.
